This past weekend in Edinburgh, the Scottish Council of African Churches, together with the Greatway Foundation, hosted an uplifting and impactful community event featuring Mercy Osei Poku from the Home Office. Her engaging, clear, and empathetic approach made the gathering truly exceptional.
Held in a warm, welcoming space, the event tackled key topics like E-Visas, Certificates of Sponsorship, the Windrush scheme, voluntary returns, immigration breaches, and citizenship guidance. Mercy’s ability to break down complex issues with clarity helped dispel myths and empowered attendees with knowledge.
Participants praised the session as one of the most powerful and informative they’ve experienced in recent years. It stood as a shining example of the value of open dialogue, trust-building, and respectful communication between institutions and communities.
With heartfelt thanks to the Home Office for fostering genuine engagement, we look forward to more.
